SOUL SAVING STATION
Evangelistic Center
The Soul Saving Station Evangelistic Center (as it is known today) was founded by Co-Founder Eleanor Melendez and the late Bishop Valeriano Melendez. In 1970, the Lord impressed upon Pastor Valeriano Melendez to start a work, in Ahoskie, North Carolina.

God working all things together for the good of them that love Him and are called according to His purpose; placed in the heart of the late Mother Willie Ann Sessoms, a burden for ministry in Ahoskie as well, upon her invitation, Pastor Melendez began to conduct services in her home twice a month, subsequently; she was the first member of the church. As memebership grew, it became necessary to lease space to worship. Our first building was a "little hat shop" on the corner of Main Street and Catherine Creek Road. By 1971, there were approimately 9 members and many visitors.

In 1974, the Lord gave the Pastor the vision to build a new edifice. In faith and being obedient to God's instructions, we began a building fund drive. God honored our In1974, the Lord gave the Pastor the vision to build a new edifice. In faith and being obedient to God's instructions, we began a   building fund drive. God honored our faith, trust and obedience and by 1977, the new building was completed. By 1987, the educational wing was added and was dedicated in 1988.

Because of such a great move of God and an ever-growing membership, we needed yet a larger sanctuary. Therefore in 1990, we began another building fund drive. By bountiful grace and mercy of our God, we held our first service in our new sanctuary in 1992. Also under the leadership of the late Bishop Melendez the Circle of Love Family Center was erected and dedicated in 2006.

Today the Soul Saving Station Evangelistic Center has a membership of about 400 people. We have several outreach ministries ranging from Street and Prison Ministries, to Nursing Home Ministries, to Drug and Rehab Ministry just to name a few.
